DAC/Alaskan wolfhound

Vermont

My name is David A. Cunningham (AKA DAC), I'm an old, broken down stone mason from Vermont who has had a life-long interest in dogs; but not the ruined show ring specimens that most people think of as the cream of the dog world crop. I have always crossed different breeds of physically superior dogs to produce genetically sound, healthy and long-lived animals. I am currently working on a mix of Alaskan malamute and Irish wolfhound to create an all around (very) large dog that meets the criteria above, and can handle our Vermont winters so as to be excellent companions for hikers, x-c skiers, or anyone who enjoys the outdoors, especially in winter. They would be excellent dogs for skijoring, but none have been put to that test, yet. I also have a few wolf-malamutes that I bred for weight-pulling competition. I am interested in all things related to animals, natural history, anthropology, art and writing. In the area of writing I have one novel available on Amazon, a horror story titled 'CHIMERA', and am currently working on several others, mostly in the horror genre, but also one rather presumptuous work that is basically the sequel to Jack London's 'The Call of the Wild'. I also have a collection of illustrated children's poems written for my daughter when she was between the ages of 4 and 14 that I hope to someday publish. Anyone wishing to contact me can email me at wolfrunkennel@gmail.com.
