Transforming Anna

I am PhD student-parent-partner at Southern Methodist University. My subject areas are: 20th century American Literature, African American Literature, Black Feminist Theory, Disability Theory, and Women and Gender Studies. I am interested in the intersections of gender, race and disability in black women's writings. This blog is largely academic, but it is also personal. For me, every aspect of my life is connected: my research and writing, my partner, my child, my (queer) sexuality, my mental health (sometimes lack thereof), my body transformation (I have lost 80+ pounds and I am still losing...I guess)--EVERYTHING.
