I Am a Gladiator! I am also a 15 year multiple sclerosis veteran. Diagnosed with relapsing-re emitting multiple sclerosis, I am unemployed, on disability, living in a slum (really, my building management is a slum lord) because that is all I can afford at the moment. MS brain fog is an uninvited guest and I find that my best and most fluent expression comes when I am writing. My name is Shari Staten. Welcome to The MS Closet: Inside the Mind of a Multiple Sclerosis Gladiator. A Nubian Joan of Arc, I have managed to remain ambulatory with only the use of a cane. I don’t like my cane, but it’s a useful appendage. I restrict myself to its use for when I am away from home.
