Shelly Ray Hickman is an exceptional character among today’s reality stars. She’s openly a lesbian, at times politically incorrect, and brazenly outspoken. Fans of the Oxygen-dubbed “Lady Killer” have seen her unabashed wit and confrontational humor riotously on display on season 7 of Oxygen’s hit reality show, Bad Girls Club. Shelly is one of the leading characters on the current season of Bad Girls Club; and has developed her own storyline on the hit show and managed to amass hours of airtime. Her ongoing feud with fellow cast members especially Judi, disputes with homophobic Mardi Gras protesters, and controversial visits from her girlfriend Sarah who is in the military keep the house brimming with excitement. Shelly is called a "bully" on the show but maintains that she only reacts when provoked and stands up for what she believes in every chance she gets. “I’m a Bad Girl because I stand up for what I believe in and what is right. I don’t care about the cost or the consequence. I don't care what other people think as long as the people I care about are good and safe.”, explains Shelly. Born and raised in St Louis, Missouri, Shelly hasn’t always led the coddled life of a celebrity. Quite the opposite as she survived a turbulent childhood with a drug addicted mother who was in and out of jail. Before reality television, Shelly’s typical day consisted of hanging out with friends, family and the rescued dog that she named after her favorite jazz singer, Ella Fitzgerald. Shelly spent her nights as a bartender and go-go dancer for several nightclubs in St Louis where her popularity grew across the city. Since the show, Shelly has modeled for Red Bull, Just One clothing, Hot Heads Hair Extensions, XOXO Magazine, and has been interviewed for several websites and radio stations. She is currently traveling the country appearing and hosting as well as celebrity bartending at nightclubs. Shelly has projects in the works including her own website, product lines, reality show, and more. Hoping to use her life experiences to continue the philanthropic work she began before becoming a TV personality, Shelly plans to lend her new found fame not only to fighting for children who need a positive role model in their lives but to such charities and organizations as PETA, Animal Humane Society, GLAAD, and NOH8.
