Antanarivo, Madagascar

After 15 years of shooting stuff with my camera, reading a lot of photography books, watching thousand of tutorials, I'm still very far from thinking to myself as a photographer or an artist. I’m pretty confident about my knowledge in the technical aspects of photography and digital stuff… but feel totally weak about communicating through my photograph or developing my creativity. In my professional environment, people see me as a natural communicant. Conversely, I confess that express feelings or my intimate vision is something I've never really done. And I feel so scared about this. This is why I decide to enroll on The Art of Photography course that looks more artistic and less technical than others. Photography as a medium for, what I expect to be, a real personal journey. And in a more academic point of view, maybe this journey will lead me to the degree (sounds to me like the revenge of a self made man! cool OCA will be my first experience in higher education and distance learning. I'm French but living overseas. I move to Madagascar last year. This country may sound like a wonderful playground for a photographer, but to get out with your camera could lead you to a real security issue (I don't want to begin to find excuses for something I'm already doing too much: to let my camera at home). This will be one of my first challenges. Communication and exchanges with others students seems to be one of the key to success in this course. I'm sure some of you also share this opinion. So if you’re not afraid of my bad English, it will be great to converse, give feedback each other and discuss ideas.
