I am an optimist by nature, though guardedly so in some situations. Always, though, a glass half full is preferable to a glass half empty. I enjoy reading and writing. I emphatically do not like to be busy; I work hard to create free time, not time to fill with yet more stuff. I continue to be enthralled and romanced by the world around me, and by the seeming minutia of life; this is, perhaps, one of the reasons I so enjoy John Irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany" and the tales of George MacDonald. I desire and hope to life faithfully and graciously, with a growing sense of gratitude, loving God, loving neighbor, and enjoying as best I can the life I have been given and the world in which I live, move and have being.
