Philip Nevenhoven

Program Manager
He/Him · Las Vegas, Nevada, United States

Philip Nevenhoven has 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry, serving as a program manager and quality assurance leader. His work has supported the development of executive, commercial, and military aircraft systems. Throughout his career, he has managed complex programs, enhanced production quality, and guided teams in aligning with AS9100, ISO 9001, and defense compliance standards. His commitment to craftsmanship began early in a small town in Iowa, where he was fascinated by how things were built and how they functioned. At 13, he helped remodel a house for a friend’s father, who owned a construction company. During that summer, he completed his first electrical wiring job, which sparked his interest in hands-on problem-solving and building. During high school, Philip worked with a general contractor during school breaks, gaining experience in all stages of residential construction. His practical skills were noticed by his high school shop teacher, who joined him on summer job sites to learn from real projects. After earning a degree in carpentry, Nevenhoven returned to home construction before deciding to take the union carpentry apprenticeship test in a nearby city. At 19, he passed the exam successfully, becoming the youngest to do so without a formal apprenticeship. His work expanded from residential construction to fine interior trim carpentry, but after a job site injury, he decided to pursue a different path. In 1995, he entered the aerospace industry in Kansas, where he worked on interiors for custom business jets, marking the beginning of his aerospace career. With a foundation in craftsmanship, Philip transitioned into quality, engineering, and program management within the aerospace industry. He worked with major aerospace organizations in the U.S., Canada, and France, supporting executive and military aviation programs. Leading a team of more than 50 quality engineers and program managers, he delivered large-scale programs and focused on continuous improvement. Nevenhoven has led teams across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing, ensuring FAA conformity, AS9100 compliance, and ISO quality systems. His work included overseeing aircraft interior production, seating systems, and managing program lifecycles from design to certification and delivery. He worked closely with OEMs and suppliers to ensure product conformity, manage subcontractor inspections, and address technical and compliance challenges in domestic and international environments. Philip has also led training and process improvement efforts, supporting operational efficiency, reducing rework, and assisting with FAA audits and customer certifications. His skills in CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and lean quality systems have supported design improvements and cost savings across aircraft platforms. Nevenhoven is recognized for guiding and motivating teams, maintaining progress under tight deadlines, and adapting to shifting priorities. His clear and calm communication has helped align stakeholders and support effective decisions. He has served as the primary contact during conformity inspections and certification phases, leading audits and collaborating with the FAA and aviation authorities to ensure timely delivery schedules. Philip earned his Catia V5 Certificate from Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research in 2006 and received his AOS/Certificate in Building Trades/Carpentry from Ellsworth Community College in 1989. He has supported organizations such as Goodwill and other nonprofits, demonstrating his commitment to giving back. In his time, he enjoys home renovation, fitness, and distance running, earning awards for placing high in races. Philip Nevenhoven continues to apply his leadership, practical knowledge, and commitment to quality within the aerospace industry.
