Rasha Morad, MD, is a dedicated physician with over 30 years of experience in post-acute, subacute, long-term, and chronic care, with a strong focus on serving older adults. From the outset of her career, she has worked to ensure that patients transitioning through these care settings receive continuity, compassion, and stability in their treatment plans. She brings consistent results through lowered re-hospitalization rates and adherence to quality standards. Over time, Dr. Morad has become exceptionally skilled in managing medically complex patients, often helping them regain function through thoughtful rehabilitation approaches. Her clinical background encompasses hospital inpatient and outpatient services, primary care, intensive care units, and home health care. In particular, she has shown strong capabilities in handling the needs of geriatric patients with multiple chronic conditions, including those recovering from COVID-19. In addition to her clinical focus, Dr. Morad emphasizes preventive medicine and community education. She provides guidance on weight control, quitting smoking, and diabetes care. She has also taken the initiative in creating public health programs that address women’s health, sexually transmitted disease prevention, and workplace safety, particularly within under-resourced populations. Rasha Morad's efforts to improve clinical efficiency have included leading the rollout of EMR systems such as PointClickCare and GehriMed, ensuring full HIPAA compliance. She continues to adapt her work to reflect current medical guidelines. Being fluent in both English and Arabic enables her to connect with diverse communities and better address the healthcare gaps faced by minority populations. Dr. Rasha works in rural outpatient clinics, contributing her knowledge as an Internal Medicine physician to underserved patients. She provides medical support to local providers, decreases preventable hospital readmissions, and remains personally involved in caring for patients with complex post-hospital needs and chronic conditions. As a Medical Director and Attending Physician, Dr. Morad leads teams across skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers. She oversees the quality of inpatient care, manages transitions after hospital discharge, and supports team members in maintaining strong clinical and documentation practices. Her leadership helps facilities maintain excellent standards of care. Dr. Morad also plays a central role in ensuring regulatory compliance. She educates healthcare staff, leads patient safety initiatives, participates in ethics committees, and collaborates with hospitals to assist families and care teams in navigating complex healthcare decisions and discharge processes. Rasha Morad, MD, continues to provide direct care through outpatient services and hospital-based roles, including pre-employment physicals, follow-ups, and inpatient consultations. In rehabilitation settings, she manages post-operative care for patients recovering from major surgeries, always aligning care with updated clinical protocols. Outside of clinical practice, she volunteers to provide free care to uninsured patients and supports medical relief efforts through organizations such as Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). This commitment reflects her belief that access to care should be a shared responsibility. Dr. Morad completed her Internal Medicine residency as Chief Resident at the University of Maryland Mid-Town Campus. She holds board certification in Internal Medicine and is a Certified Medical Director in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care. Her published work includes contributions to diabetes, digestive health, and metabolic-related diseases. Dr. Rasha Morad maintains active memberships with the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. She is licensed in California and Maryland and holds ACLS and BLS certifications. In her time, she enjoys cycling, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family.
