Safwan Sobhan

Safwan Sobhan is the Founder and Chairman of Safwan Bashundhara Global (SBG). He is an entrepreneur and investor whose business endeavors have contributed to economic growth by creating jobs and fostering innovation. His steady work ethic and straightforward approach to problem-solving have guided his progress over the past 15 years. His ability to find practical solutions has enabled the business to expand into more than 25 ventures across various sectors, including business, industrial, maritime, and manufacturing. He has promoted a sustainable business model that considers the well-being of people and the environment while keeping a focus on profitability. His leadership has earned him the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) of Bangladesh award, as well as other recognitions for his contributions. He was born in Bangladesh and spent part of his early years in the UK, where he studied at Shiplake College in Oxfordshire, a school known for its strong focus on personal growth and student care. In 2007, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on International Business from American Intercontinental University. As the founder of Safwan Bashundhara Global (SBG), he has led the organization into new product lines and markets. He is recognized for his straightforward leadership style, which utilizes clear strategies to achieve company goals and enhance operational performance. He communicates objectives to management teams, oversees financial outcomes, and ensures the business stays within its operating budgets. Sobhan has also guided the organization in taking on social responsibilities, including supporting efforts that reduced tuition costs for meritorious students at Bashundhara Ad-Din Medical College and helping lower delivery costs for pregnant women, thereby providing many families with more affordable healthcare options. His dedication to strategic planning and business operations has earned him industry recognition as an innovative leader. He prioritizes continuous improvement in internal processes and the development of clear workflows that align with company goals. Under his leadership, the Bashundhara Group has adopted modern production methods, automated systems, and efficient supply chain practices to improve overall business performance. Sobhan has received multiple awards for his achievements in business and philanthropy. In 2020, he was honored with the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) of Bangladesh award for his contributions to the country’s economic development. In 2022, he received the Global Leader of the Year award, presented at an event attended by leaders, diplomats, investors, and dignitaries. He has also been recognized as the highest taxpayer in the young category for his contributions to national financial growth and was named a “Commercially Important Person (CIP)” for his role in the industrial sector. He values spending time with family and friends and remains committed as a husband and father.
