Writer and former journalist LR Dunbar has a life-long interest in UFOs, cryptozoology, and the paranormal in large part due to the influence of an older brother who shared his interest in astronomy, horror movies and books, and science fiction as well as a mother with a boundless love of reading. She was raised in the American Midwest and now lives in Appalachia. She has been married to fellow writer Lee Foster for more than twenty years. They share a house overlooking the Ohio River with four cats and a Chow Chow named Izzy and a redbone coonhound named Copper.
